The GE RecordsTFC System has much in common with GE's popular, leading and proven Centricity Pharmacy (formerly RxTFC® by BDM) that is currently supporting over 7,000 beds in Canada. This particular system shares the same open industry Windows® multi-tiered client server technical environment and relational object oriented database structures. It also shares a clinical orientation and a design meant to accommodate the emerging shared, integrated regional and district community-based continuum of care models for the twenty-first century. Due to its innovative design and rich functionality, GE fully expects that the GE RecordsTFC System will become very popular and will enjoy an industry leading position in North America as does the GE Centricity Pharmacy System. It is intended for use by any authorized care giver or planner in the total hospital enterprise under security and on a need-to-know basis. The GE RecordsTFC System is designed with table-based user defined editing and rules structures (preferences), offers the highest degree of system integrity and also enables users to directly define and modify any report and output through the Report Building Tools. The GE RecordsTFC System file structure currently integrates with or forms the foundation for the patient/residents paper-less electronic health record. It also maintains file folder type presentation of patient demographics, identifiers, community encounter history, allergies history, diagnosis and procedures history, notes and problems records, lifestyles, pharmacy, laboratory and other clinical results, interventions history etc. The system permits narrative description and textual documentation throughout and totally supports the integration of data, graphics, image, video and voice technologies through multimedia personal computer based workstations. The GE RecordsTFC System features automatic event triggering, as well a module for the recording, documentation and reporting of any type of clinical intervention or record keeping event. All user contact with the GE RecordsTFC System is through a sophisticated and intuitive standard Windows NT® or Windows 95® Graphical User Interface (GUI) based session.
